|Gainesville, FL. 10/13/07 - Hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised along with the public perception of what has lately been among America's most disfavored breeds, the American Pit Bull Terrier.
|Hundreds of people gathered this Saturday to walk for life and raise money for the American Heart Association. In conjunction with the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency, over $172,000 was raised for the American Heart Association, with over $2,000 raised by those walking with their pet and mascot, an American Pit Bull Terrier named Beaner.
These events show how average Americans can open their hearts, minds and wallets and help when needed; those that benefited from this event included Heart Disease sufferers, the participants and the public image of this once revered breed, the American Pit Bull Terrier.
